About Us
We are an English family who moved to the Aveyron and bought the
Auberge in 2006.
The photo on the left is of me, Richard and my wife Kathy. The middle picture is of our 3 grandchildren Leena 14, Erin 10 and Ethan 5 years old and on the right is our son and daughter-in-law, Adam & Clare.
The children all go to school locally and speak French like the natives.
It’s a very different life from the one we led in England but we were determined to move to a more stress free environment for ourselves and our family.

Directions from Rodez Airport to the Auberge des Arcades, Canet de Salars
- On leaving the airport turn right on the dual carriageway towards Rodez (N140)
- Keep heading towards Rodez and cross the first road traffic island.
- At the second road traffic island take the third exit.
- Continue over the next road traffic island.
- At the next island, opposite McDonald's, turn right onto the ring road (N88) following the signs for Carmaux/Albi/La Primaube
- Pass under the high road bridge and continue up the hill. The city of Rodez is on your left.
- After about a mile take the right slip road for La Primaube/Flavin/Pont de Salars (D888)
- Keep going until you arrive in La Primaube
- Go straight through La Primaube over a number of roundabouts and head towards Flavin on the D911
- Once through Flavin follow the road into Pont de Salars, a distance of about 8 miles
- Just before Pont de Salars take the New Pont de Salars Bi-Pass towards Millau. After about 5 miles take the first exit right (Saint-Affrique /Canet de Salars/Lac de Pareloup)
- Then turn left
- Travel for approximately 3 miles until you see a right turn for Canet de Salars (D993)
- This road goes straight through to the village
- The hotel is just on the right after the church
- Ask for Richard, Adam or Kathy in the hotel
